Restructuring a technical organization

Birst’s leadership perceived that Product and Engineering were drifting and needed new tools, technology and processes to excel. They brought in Kyle as interim VPE to restructure the technical team.
Kyle’s approach:
- Focused executive team on KPI’s for aligning development to business goals.
- Reorganized Product Management and Engineering into one organization.
- Deployed Atlassian tool set for Bug Tracking, Project planning and to integrate with Salesforce support product.
- Created a new Agile SDLC to achieve better alignment from business goals to software delivered.
- Added Git and CI/CD for efficiencies in the delivery of software.
Outcome:
A well-structured team with best practices in place attracted a long-term VP of Engineering.
